La saucisse de Morteau PGI

The Philippe WAGNER traditionnal Morteau sausage is made with the best all natural ingredients, salt without nitrite.

It comes from our terroir, is PGI certified.

Our regional recipe without nitrite and its slow natural smoking, with coniferous wood, give it its typical color.

It is embossed by hand and made from the best meats from pigs, fed on whey, mainly from Haute-Saône.

It is a journey for the senses: touching its shape, listening to its cooking ... And once cooked, first of all to see and appreciate the beautiful amber color of its dress, to smell its subtle and woody scent. When cut, see its thick grain, its soft, juicy and tied texture. The absence of nitrite explains its slightly pinkish, pale gray color: a natural color, of cooked meat. On the palate, discover its unique, delicate and fragrant taste: that of a Morteau sausage prepared with all the know-how of a traditional charcutier.

Morteau sausage will easily enhance your stews, sauerkraut, salted dishes, cheese and potato plates, soups and salads.

Tip: We naturally think of it for winter dishes, but it is very popular on a skewer in fine slices ! A tasty and original skewer idea!
